North Wales Self-Catering
The Lleyn Peninsula, south of Anglesey and west of
Snowdon is now a mere 2 hour drive from Chester and Shrewsbury,
yet on the Lleyn you will feel as if it’s a million miles away.
Some of our farms are situated within 200 yards of sandy beaches.
Others are located a mere 4 miles from the stunning coastline.
Whether you sunbathe, sail, swim, or just relax watching the breakers lash
the rocks – it’s a truly invigorating experience.
This
is an area steeped in history and folklore, and where Welsh
is still a thriving, living language. There are prehistoric
ruins, holy wells, ancient Churches and a famous pilgrim
trail which leads to Ynys Enlli, - Bardsey Island where 20,000
Saints are reputedly buried.
This peninsula which is guarded
to the north by Caernarfon Castle, and to the South by Criccieth
and Harlech castles, is an area designated as one of Outstanding Natural
beauty. The 50 mile Heritage Coast offers long sandy beaches
or small rocky coves, each one with its own distinct character.
Perfect sailing, surfing, diving and sail boarding conditions prevail,
and the sandy beaches and coves are ideal for the less active members
to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility.
Lleyn
is an idyllic holiday destination for the active or idle
soul.
For short breaks or longer holidays, Lleyn has it all, and
golfers are particularly well catered for with three 18-hole
golf courses at Nefyn, Abersoch and Pwllheli, all within a
7 mile radius.
